The I2SL UK Chapter is pleased to recognise the first cohort of Labs2Zero Champions, announced by the International Institute for Sustainable Laboratories (I2SL).

The global accreditation programme supports laboratory professionals in improving energy performance through tools such as the Laboratory Benchmarking Tool (LBT), Energy and Operational Emissions Scores and the AIM Report.

Among the inaugural Champions is Philip Kelly, a member of the I2SL UK Chapter and Head of Department at Ramboll. Philip is one of the first accredited Champions in the UK and will help promote the programme alongside the Chapter's Research & Technical Group, co-led with Tracy D'Souza.

The UK Chapter sees Labs2Zero as an important opportunity to increase awareness of laboratory energy performance and encourage more organisations to benchmark, measure and improve their facilities. Through its events, technical content and industry engagement activities, the Chapter will continue to support the adoption of Labs2Zero resources across the UK laboratory sector.

The first Labs2Zero Champions represent I2SL chapters from around the world, reflecting a growing international commitment to more sustainable, energy-efficient laboratories.
