The I2SL UK Chapter is seeking feedback on a draft publication exploring Sustainability Benchmarking & Certification in UK Laboratory Facilities.

Produced by members of the Chapter's Research & Technical Committee, the document looks at the frameworks, certifications and benchmarking approaches being used to improve environmental performance across laboratory facilities. It also explores some of the practical considerations facing project teams, owners and operators as they work to balance sustainability ambitions with the technical demands of research environments.

As the publication moves towards its final draft, we're inviting members to review the document and share their feedback. We're particularly interested in hearing from those involved in the design, construction, operation and maintenance of laboratory facilities, although comments from anyone with an interest in the topic are welcome.

Feedback could include technical observations, project examples, case studies, lessons learned, suggestions for additional content, or simply a fresh perspective on the issues discussed. The aim is to ensure the publication reflects the breadth of experience and knowledge across the UK laboratory sector.

All contributors, along with their organisations, will be acknowledged in the final publication as a thank you for their support.

Feedback is requested by the end of the month. If you are an I2SL member, or interested in becoming one, please contact [email protected] to request a copy of the draft and take part in the review process.

This publication forms part of the Chapter's wider commitment to sharing knowledge and practical guidance across the laboratory community, and we would welcome your input before it is finalised.
